We are STOPFIX
High Tech and Tradition from Bavaria!
STOPFIX-BREMSE Schröter & Co. GmbH was founded in 1929 by Hans O.Schröter. The company developed and industrialized numerous parking brakes for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, but also special applications such as the parking brake for the Drachenfelsbahn in Königswinter on the Rhine, which is still in daily use today.
The company has also been able to make a name for itself with brake boosters since the 1960s. For example, the first brake booster was developed for the VW Beetle, which is still offered as a spare part today. Cable pulls for power transmission rounded off the product range even back then.
At the end of the 90s STOPFIX started to offer the first hydraulic brake actuators. Thus the product range was extended by a segment which is still growing strongly today.
In addition to our own developments, for more than 15 years we have also been supplying a wide range of assemblies that go far beyond the subject of brakes. Here we benefit from the international supplier network we have built up over decades. In combination with our assembly processes, we offer a price-performance ratio that is hard to beat, especially for complex assemblies.
The next generation takes over
In 2012, the long-planned generational change in the company management was successfully realized. The course for a continued positive development of the company as a medium-sized family business has thus been set for the long term.
We are continuously expanding our expertise in the field of brakes in order to offer our customers state-of-the-art technology and development services.
We are continuously optimizing our supply chain management in order to extend our competitive edge as a manufacturer of complex assemblies. This is because our products are based on a wide variety of technologies. The most common are laser cutting, punching, turning, milling, bending, welding and investment casting. Tube bending and cable assembly round off the program. The surfaces we supply are similarly versatile. From powder coatings to cathodic dip painting, black, white or yellow zinc plating (based on CrVI or on CrIII) to (thick-film) passivation.
For our brake actuations, we use hydraulic components and, depending on the application, pressure sensors, pressure switches, brake light switches, proximity sensors or rotary encoders from renowned manufacturers.
On the basis of long-term and trusting customer relationships, we are constantly developing in order to continuously increase our attractiveness as a supplier. We inspire our customers with our daily performance, our price – performance ratio and our profound know-how. We pursue a zero-defect strategy. In doing so, we are socially committed and work, for example, closely with workshops for the disabled.
